How to Claim a Lottery Prize from Home

how to claim a lottery prize by mail

Did you know you can use your state lottery's "claim by mail" option to claim lotto prizes without leaving the house?

The beauty of the Jackpocket lottery app is that you can play from home and win from home. But what about claiming those lotto winnings from home? If you’re wondering how to claim lottery winnings on an app, Jackpocket makes it easy! If you win under the threshold amount in your state, Jackpocket automatically credits your account for the amount won. If you exceed the threshold, we will arrange to securely send your ticket to you so you can claim your winnings with your state lottery commission.

And for those bigger wins? Enter: claim by mail.

Is it safe to mail a winning lottery ticket? In short, yes, with a caveat. You can invest additional funds to send your ticket via registered mail. This helps you track your ticket, provides insurance, and makes sure it arrives at the lottery commission safely (because someone has to sign for it). Make sure you sign the back of your ticket first! But keep in mind that your state lottery is not responsible for any ticket that is lost in the mail, misdelivered, or received beyond the deadline to claim. So for BIG lottery wins, you may feel more secure claiming in person.

Check below to find the policies and forms for all of Jackpocket's supported states. You can also scroll to the bottom of the page to get a link to the policy for EVERY state lottery in the U.S. Things are changing quickly, so always double-check the information on your state lottery's website. Let's dive in!
